1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the WhatIsMyIP Tool website at whatismyip-tool.com ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

WhatIsMyIP Tool provides a free web-based tool that:

Automatically detects and displays your public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses
Provides geolocation information associated with IP addresses (city, region, country, timezone, coordinates)
Identifies the Internet Service Provider (ISP) associated with an IP address
Allows users to look up geolocation data for any public IP address
Displays an interactive map showing the approximate location of an IP address
Provides educational content about IP addresses, privacy, and network security

The Service is provided for informational and educational purposes. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time without notice.

3. Permitted Use

You may use the Service for:

Checking your own IP address and associated network information
Looking up geolocation data for IP addresses you own or have permission to investigate
Network troubleshooting and legitimate IT/security work
Educational and research purposes
Verifying the effectiveness of VPN, proxy, or anonymization services
Web development and testing

4. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

Harassment or stalking: Collect IP address information for the purpose of harassing, stalking, threatening, or otherwise harming any individual
Illegal activities: Facilitate fraud, cybercrime, phishing, hacking, or any other illegal activity
Automated scraping: Use bots, scrapers, spiders, or automated tools to systematically extract data from our Service without express written permission

We reserve the right to block access to users who violate these prohibitions, at our sole discretion and without notice.

5. Intellectual Property

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or commercially exploit the Content without our express written permission. The display of individual IP lookup results for your own informational purposes is permitted.

6. Third-Party Services

Our Service integrates with third-party services including ipapi.co (geolocation), OpenStreetMap (mapping), Google Analytics, and Google AdSense. Your use of these services through our platform is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of these third parties.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
Warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of IP geolocation data
Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
Warranties regarding the accuracy of third-party APIs we use

IP geolocation is inherently imprecise. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of city-level, state-level, or coordinate-level location data. Do not rely on our Service for life-safety, legal, law enforcement, or other critical decisions.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WHATISMYIP TOOL LTD AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES — INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, DATA LOSS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION — ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY AND WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WhatIsMyIP Tool Ltd and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) your violation of any applicable laws or regulations.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to our collection and use of your data as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If not resolved within 30 days, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration in London, England, under the rules of the London Court of International Arbitration.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also have the right to submit disputes to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
